- Degree:Master of Music
Building on the skills and knowledge acquired in Bachelor’s degree programmes, the Master of Music in Sound Arts & Creative Music Technology is aimed at students with advanced competencies in this field who wish to deepen their abilities and (further) develop an independent artistic position. The programme enables students to acquire and expand a broad range of knowledge and skills in areas such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, digital and analogue sound generation, live electronics, intermedial and audiovisual art, sound installation and more. The professional pathways and artistic developments emerging from the programme are diverse and are fostered by the breadth of its curricular content.
By the end of the programme, students are expected to be able to present and articulate their artistic work responsibly within society. Alongside artistic practice, the ability to engage with societal discourse and public contexts is accorded significant importance. This includes an in-depth engagement with the work of others and with historical perspectives in the field of Sound Arts & Creative Music Technology.
The core focus of the programme is artistic practice in Sound Arts & Creative Music Technology, which is comprehensively supervised through individual tuition and group classes. Students are encouraged to develop works in a variety of media configurations and contexts, employing different techniques and conceptual approaches.
In seminar sessions, students present their work and articulate their aesthetic positions. These discussions within the class, as well as exchanges with students from other classes and external guests, make a significant contribution to personal and artistic development.
